Pottery

Hand-built pottery allows me to feel how the clay moves and shapes in my hands. There are many aspects to creating new pieces: the joy of finding old items for molds, watching the pieces take shape, selecting colors that express what I’m trying to convey. Many pieces are inspired by the nature around me.

Colors are fascinating. Imagining how they will look when selecting. Seeing how they flow and settle in the final firing. My color palette keeps changing as the right colors are “found”. I use bright and deep-colored lead-free glazes.
